We’re told at this time of year New Year New You, and it’s tempting to throw the last year out for lots of reasons. Maybe hold up there for a sec. Throwing out the past doesn’t honour the work you’ve done and the things you’ve achieved to get you to this point, as Oprah says ‘another chance for us to get it right’.

Here in the ICLS office in Keighley the first week back has been a time to plan and consolidate the past 9 months since Sophie our Project Manager has been in post. With a clear plan of what the next year will bring, we’re excited about new projects (we like new shiny things!) and continuing with the e5 project and Power Up! programme with our existing partners (we also like strengthening relationships and reconnecting with friends!)

Not to mention our new years resolution of blogging at least once a month, to keep everyone up to date with our ICLS family!

Social Media

We’re on all the major channels FB, Twitter and Instagram and are using these to connect with people, campaigns and to showcase our work across Keighley. Our Instagram is regularly updated with all the amazing exploits of our students including mini films, trips out and their creative projects. Watch out for our leadership group takeover in the coming weeks!

Inspired by Sophie’s xmas present ‘100 Nasty Women of History’ by Hannah Jewell, our Twitter feed has a daily #CelebrateWomen post.  A woman and her achievements will be showcased each day, including some unusual characters; strongwoman Lillian Leizel, long distance driver Violette Condry and WW2 spy Noor Inayat Khan. Over the year we’ll be building up a resource of women’s achievements, linking with monthly campaigns including February’s LGBTQ+ history month, March’s Women’s History Month and October’s Black History month. KAFF

The first Keighley Arts and Film Festival is this year on 11 and 12 October 2019 and we’re really excited to be a part of the celebration of creativity in the town. KAFF is being spearheaded by Jan Smithies from Keighley’s MP John Grogan’s office. With partnerships forming across the region watch this space for ICLS’s involvement!

New Partnerships

We are always open to forming new partnerships and working further afield. Contact us on info@iclseducation.org to start the conversation.
