SEW KEIGHLEY PRIDE
GET INVOLVED – VOLUNTEER
WHAT IS SEW KEIGHLEY PRIDE?
ICLS and Keighley Pride are working together on a community Pride flag and need your help! We are inviting people across the town to contribute to a patchwork flag, made from hundreds of colourful squares that celebrate all aspects of the LGBTQ+ community.
Morwenna Catt, an internationally renowned textile artist, will be working as the artisitic lead to design and bring the flag together. She’ll be delivering workshops in real life (when we’re able to meet up again) and online. View more of her work here
The flag will be made up of over 280 patches made by a varied array participants. We want the whole community to be involved; LGBTQ+ individuals, groups, and allies.
It’s a huge undertaking so we are looking for a team of enthusiastic, friendly volunteers to help engage and support participants and to be ambassadors for the project.
Are you a social media wiz, an eager blogger?
Maybe you love everything crafty and are searching for your next project to get involved in?
Do you just love meeting new people and forging new connections and nurturing relationships?
That’s me you say? Well, we would love to get you involved in the project
There are no barriers to being a volunteer, you can come from any background, ability, gender or sexuality: Everyone is welcome!
HAVE I GOT TIME?
Volunteering for Sew Keighley Pride is completely flexible to suit you. Perhaps you have a free half day per week to offer or maybe you have much more. We can accommodate a variety of levels of involvement
VOLUNTEERING IS A PARTNERSHIP
Become part of a community, develop your skills and expand your C.V
We think it is important to recognise and reward your efforts. We are very excited to have teamed up with Citizen Coin Bradford – so you can earn digital coins to exchange for promotional discounts in a variety of shops across Bradford District. When we’re able to meet up again you will be reimbursed for any travel.
